Blood, Sweat, & Tears (Literally)…. Plus, a Lot of Love –

What makes someone want to start a mobile bartending company and convert a vintage camper into a mobile bar… passion, crave for change, insanity...?

It all started when I ran across a picture of a horse trailer that was being used as a bar at a festival. Me and a friend were both working multiple jobs and had been looking into doing some bartending on the side. However, when I saw that picture I realized we could do so much more!

Lets get this straight, I had never bartended seriously before. I have predominantly worked in HVAC/R and served part time as well. However, I just knew I could do this and all I wanted was to be able to take my bar to events, make people smile and give them a unique experience.

Something I have always enjoyed is entertaining and seeing people happy. I wanted to be able to do something where I can go above and beyond and truly make someone’s day. I am so excited to work with different groups of people, meet them, hear their stories, and have the honor to share something special with them.

But how would I do it… I started looking into courses and trying to find a camper.

I completed my WSET level two for wine and spirit knowledge as well as a bartending course. Being surrounded by all these professionals I was more intimidated than ever but inspired to learn as much as possible.

At the end of March 2019 is when I found my camper online. I picked her up a week later and the project began. At the time I bought the camper I was working three jobs (now two) so making time to work on it has been a challenge.

I think it was the day we finished the complete gutting of the camper that the, “I literally must be insane” part kicked in. Honestly, what the hell was I thinking? I know nothing about renovations or campers! We had put in the blood and sweat so far gutting the camper… now was the time for tears. But, with the support of my family and friends, I kept pushing through.

It took a lot of brainstorming (believe me, my friends and family had to put up with several texts a day for months) but the name “Roaming Spirits” was born on May.29th, 2019 when I received the name approval back.

Roaming Spirits became an official company in BC on June 1st, 2019.

I am so incredibly excited to share with you the finished product and I hope you will consider me and my other bartenders for your upcoming events.

Please enjoy the pictures of our progress, the road has been bumpy at times… but it really is all about the journey.
